You MUST download the “Fish Donkey” app on your phone to be eligible to participate. After downloading search for “Redfish Royale” to register for the tournament.
Registration for the Redfish Royale will be open beginning August 1, 2024 via Fish Donkey.
Registration is $200 per boat.
The fishing window is Saturday, November 9, 2024 – Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Each team will be allowed to declare, fish and register catches on one day within the fishing window. Declare your day by email at redfishroyale@verityclaim.com with the captain's name and date you will fish in the subject line.
Teams must declare their fishing day before 11:59 PM the day prior of their intended fishing day. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of all catches and the team must fish another day.
Captain’s meetings will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Old City Fly Shop and Friday, November 8, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Strike Zone Fly Fishing. One angler from each team must attend the captain’s meeting.
Fishing is limited to polable water depths within the Saint Johns County, Duval County and Nassau County borders.
Host fly shops are not official representatives of the Redfish Royale or Hadassah’s Hope. Any questions or concerns should addressed to the Tournament Director at RedfishRoyale@verityclaim.com.
Anglers are encouraged to support your local guides. A “guided” team consist of an actively working USCG licensed charter captain within the tournament boundaries and a separate awards category is set for “guided” teams.
Participating anglers are not necessarily affiliated with or official representatives of the participating fly shop or Hadassah’s Hope.
Each boat consist of up to three (3) members.
Only one working rod per boat, however the team members can share “bow time.”
Only slot redfish (18”-27”) qualify as "stringer" fish eligible.
Only over slot redfish (over 27") qualify as "BIG FISH" eligible.
You can only submit one “BIG FISH.” No culling for the large fish category.
Only fish landed without net and released alive and unharmed will qualify as a catch.
Each fish must be photographed on a bump board with the entire board visible, tournament "card" in picture and fly intact. Tournament bump board and card will be issued a captains meetings.
Fish measurement is from the most forward point on the head with the mouth closed to the furthest point on the pinched tail.
The total length of all slot redfish recorded by each team will determine placings.
Ties are decided by the earliest qualified catch recorded. "Earliest" is defined by time of day, regardless of the fishing day.
The penalty for any rules violation is tournament disqualification.
